|Work Visit Baltimore Nederlands
The Baltimore Rotterdam Sister City Committee hosted visiting artist, Kathie diStefano mid December. During this visit Kathie attended numerous gatherings and meetings in preparation for Avalanche Arts' upcoming "Artist in Residence" program planned for October 2015.
Baltimore organisations that reacted enthusiastically to collaborating with Avalanche Arts are: Ben Franklin High, Masonville Cove Environmental Center in close partnership with Living Classrooms and the Filbert Street Community Garden. These institutes are all located in the Curtis Bay Area of South Baltimore, where Avalanche Arts participated in a cultural exchange program in 2012 and 2013.
Living Classrooms is an organisation whose focus includes offering environmental education to schools and community organisations throughout Baltimore. Avalanche Arts has been invited to lead "teach the teacher workshops" at this dynamic institute.
“Living Classrooms Foundation strengthens communities and inspires young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms."
